The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin raising the level of Lake Washington today.
The summer refill will reach full pool, 22 feet (up from the 20-foot winter elevation), by June 1. It is common for lake levels to fluctuate daily by several tenths of a foot during refill.
This year, placement of riprap for Hiram M. Chittenden Locks erosion repairs requires spillway gate closures, possibly causing minor fluctuation increases until mid-March.
To maintain proper mooring, vessel owners should closely monitor lake elevation, especially those in boathouses.
