Your readers—especially those in sailboats—should be aware that there is a rock (or other obstruction?) in the entrance to Beach Gardens Marina (at Grief Point, south of Powell River).
It is about 3 meters (10 feet) south of the midpoint between the two breakwaters and it is about 1.2 meters (4 feet) below the surface at a zero tide. I discovered this the hard way, literally.
Also, the depth along side A Dock (the primary transient-moorage dock) is only 1.6 meters (5.3 feet) at a zero tide. I passed this information along to the Beach Gardens manager but did not receive a satisfactory response.
Thanks and regards,
Kirk Patterson
