WASHINGTON SEA GRANT OFFERING SEA SAFETY COURSE IN PORT TOWNSEND
Washington Sea Grant (WSG) and its partners are co-sponsoring a Sea Safety and Survival Course for commercial fishermen and charter boat operators. The workshop includes both lecture and hands-on activities using safety and survival equipment required for fishing vessels. Participants will learn about emergency procedures and be trained to develop appropriate emergency drills for their own vessels.
Sponsors are WSG, the Northwest Maritime Center, Jefferson Education Center and Jefferson County Extension.
When: Tuesday, April 17; 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Washington Sea Grant (WSG) and the Port of Bellingham are sponsoring a Sea Safety and Survival Course in Blaine for commercial fishermen and charter boat operators.
This Coast Guard-approved workshop meets the training requirements of the Commercial Fishing Safety Act to conduct drills. Course work includes lectures, hands-on activities and instruction in the use of safety and survival equipment now required for commercial fishing vessels. Participants will learn about emergency procedures and be trained to develop appropriate emergency drills for their own vessels.
When: Wednesday, April 18; 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: Blaine Boating Center, 235 Marine Dr., Blaine
Fee: Free for commercial fishermen, $80 for other boaters
