PIERRE’S BAY NEW YEAR’S NEWSLETTER

January 7, 2008. Pierre’s Bay is one of the popular stops in the famous Broughtons cruising area. As you can tell from the photos below, there’s no mistaking Pierre. His extravagant beard is his trademark. There’s lots of news, including – finally – Pierre’s explanation of the Echo Bay story. At Pierre’s request, we’ve had to be very careful about what we have been able to say.

Happy New Years!!!

Here's what's happening in our neck of the woods. There were rumblings and rumours that we might go into partnership with another couple to buy Echo Bay Marina. The rumours were true but, after 6 months of negotiation, a great deal of work and monetary loss, problems emerged in the due diligence process which made the purchase too stressful and difficult to deal with.

X, Y, and Z simply did not fit together so we backed out of it. There was so much quagmire that we don't have energy to regurgitate it, nor is it appropriate to. Creative writers could not have written a more convoluted script. Kinda like the Anna Nicole Smith thing with so many twists and turns. Man, we prefer simplicity.

In the meantime, we have carry on. Pierre was more than busy putting new flotation under the Pierre's Bay conglomerate... and dealing with our brand new generator that went kaput. We also had to buy a brand new boat motor at the end of summer. It's been a challenge. It ain't easy being the hosts with the mostest.

2008 finds us sharing a booth at the Seattle boat show with Mid Coast Property Ltd., (Concourse Floor, Booth 3835). Bruce Jackman, owner of the fuel dock in Port McNeill, will be promoting the expansion of his Marina, as we will Pierre's Bay and both of us will toot the the horn about the magnificent Broughtons and other services in the area. Please come and see us!

What's new for Pierre's Bay 2008?
Hold your breath! Lots of surprises that we cannot reveal at the moment, but we'll give you a few tidbits to tide you over: Lady Di will be back with her Bakery in full swing this year; 2 new commercial washers and dryers in the new Laundromat; 15 and 30 amps power all over the Marina... We are working on our summer schedule that we will release at the Seattle Boat Show.

Wishing you the best for 2008!

PS... Christmas delivered Pierre a 2 week break from all this stress... watch him go now!

Sincerely,
Pierre & Tove
