A
re there websites or other information sources that can direct us to the (rare) power boat charter firms in the stretch north of Vancouver to
Port Hardy? We are thinking of a two week trip in those waters.

Thanks for your help.

Two web sites will get you in touch with the major charter companies.

The first is the Pacific Northwest Charter Association site, www.pnca.org/charter.htm. This is the organization of Puget Sound and San Juan Islands based charter companies.

The British Columbia charter companies can be reached through the B.C. Marine Trades Association web site, www.bcmta.com.

I suggest that you contact both U.S. and Canadian companies. You never know who might have the boat you want, where you want it.

From Vancouver to Port Hardy is quite a stretch of water, and if you try to do it all in two weeks, you'll spend most of your time running. You should consider seeing only part of those waters, but at a more relaxed pace. In a way, it doesn't matter which part you choose. Those entire cruising grounds are fantastic.
