We visited with you at the Seattle Boat Show and forgot to ask one important question. We use your guide religiously while boating (it's my bedtime reading prior to a cruise) and we plan to use it all the way to Prince Rupert this summer. Is there any guide that's comparable that will take us from Prince Rupert to Sitka?
 Thanks for your help!

If I were doing Southeast Alaska I would carry three guides: Exploring Southeast Alaska, by Don Douglass and Reanne Hemmingway-Douglass; Charlie's Charts, by Charles and Margo Woods; and Northwest Boat Travel. Douglass is by far the most comprehensive of the three, but Charlie's Charts adds important perspectives. Although Northwest Boat Travel's editors have not been on the water in several years, they stay in touch with marinas and would have the most current information, such as telephone numbers, about facilities. Their 2002 edition comes out in May.

The Waggoner, unfortunately, will not cover Southeast Alaska in the forseeable future. Our annual trip to Prince Rupert and return takes seven weeks (eight or nine weeks in the years we include the West Coast of Vancouver Island), and we simply run out of time. I know we're missing some exciting cruising, but I think it's more important to do a comprehensive job in the waters we do cover.
