Port of Friday Harbor, P.O. Box 889, 204 Front Street, Friday Harbor, WA 98250; (360)378-2688, fax (360)378-6114; www.portfridayharbor.org. Monitors VHF 66A. Certified Clean Marina. Open all year, gasoline and diesel available nearby. Ample sidetie guest moorage along 1500 feet of dock, plus slips in guest docks, and unoccupied slips. The slips handle a maximum length of 44 feet. Longer boats (to 200 feet) will side-tie along the breakwater. Call ahead for reservations. Services include 120-volt 30 & 50 amp power, 240-volt 50 amp power and some 240-volt 100 amp power, BroadbandXpress wireless internet, restrooms, showers, garbage and recycling dumpsters, and pumpout. An ADA-compliant ramp connects the wharf with the floats. Customs clearance is available.

A much appreciated floating restroom has been installed on the long float leading to the guest moorage dock. It used to be a long walk to the bathroom. See the marina map for the location.

At 2:00 p.m. Sundays and 5:00-7:00 on Fridays in July and August listen to live music in the small park next to the marina.

A farmers market runs 10:00-2:00 on Saturdays from May through October in the courthouse parking lot, about five minutes from the marina.

If you do not have reservations, call on the radio (VHF 66A, low power) for a slip assignment, but wait until you are within sight of the marina before you call. In the summer, a slip assignment station is staffed at the end of the marina entrance. A dinghy float and day moorage are available. Nearby haulout and repairs.

This is one of the busiest marinas in the Northwest, and the pressure on staff and facilities is enormous. To their credit, they keep the docks, showers and restrooms up quite well. Because they are so busy, when you depart it is courteous to call the marina on VHF 66A to tell them your slip is available. (Marina map accompanies this listing, shown here) |
